PAHO Intelligence Briefs

intelligencebrief

The Intelligence Brief section of the RPSP/PAJPH, developed in collaboration with PAHO’s Health Emergencies Department, supports the rapid dissemination of evidence from epidemic intelligence and public health surveillance in the Region of the Americas. This section distills PAHO’s epidemiological products — such as Epidemiological Alerts, Updates, and Rapid Risk Assessments —into peer reviewed, openly accessible brief reports that translate surveillance data into actionable public health insights.

Intelligence Briefs focus on emerging threats, evolving trends, and key vulnerabilities with confirmed or potential regional or global relevance. Using a concise, standardized structure, they provide rapid scientific communication while maintaining robust analytical and methodological standards. Published on an expedited track in both English and Spanish, the section strengthens the interface between operational public health practice and scientific publishing, reinforcing PAHO’s leadership in epidemic intelligence and supporting Member States in preparedness, early warning, and response across the Region.
