In my years as a staff member of the Pan American Health Organization, I participated as an author and reviewer of a number of scientific texts for the Journal.
During my time collaborating with the Region’s countries, their institutions, laboratories, and public health professionals, the Journal was one of the main professional channels for publishing research findings and ideas on health policy, because of its scope, its publication in various languages, and its relevance to the Region's scientific community.
I celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Pan American Journal of Public Health and its aim of providing knowledge and disseminating information relevant to the Region's scientific community on key topics that help improve the Region's health systems. The Journal is a reference point for a global audience.
