Objective.

To analyze health economic evaluations for the treatment of obesity in adults published globally between 2009-2019.

Methods.

Systematic review applying Cochrane, PRISMA and CHEERS guidelines for health economics studies. The selection and information extraction protocol assured the completeness, reproducibility and methodological quality. Qualitative synthesis was carried out by means of frequency of type of economic evaluation.

Objective.

To evaluate the operative capacity of nine serological rapid tests to detect the IgM/IgG antibodies response in serum from patients with SARS-CoV-2 in different clinical stages.

Methods.

A cross-sectional study of serological rapid tests was designed to compare the performance of the evaluated immunochromatographic tests for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2. A total of 293 samples was used, including negatives, asymptomatic, and symptomatic serum samples.

In the context of globalization, public health requires continuous cooperation among all actors and a flow of data and information that facilitates and leverages that cooperation. However, there are still barriers that limit or prevent access to and use of public health for the benefit of societies. In this context, the adoption of open public health is proposed and its implications and scope are explored.

This global public health crisis should draw attention to other silent epidemics, such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR), responsible for 700 000 annual deaths worldwide, 230 000 of them from multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis.2 In the Region of the Americas, multidrug-resistant microorganisms are the leading cause of health care-associated infections.
